Wages make you a living; profits make you a fortune." – Jim Rohn What exactly does that mean? Wages = The worker bee who trades time for money. Profits = The boss who earns profits based upon growth rather than time. Me? I like both, but prefer "profits" over wages any day. Why? Trading time for money has one fatal flaw. The last time I checked, there were only 24 hours in each day, and you certainly can't work all 24 of them, even if you wanted to. After cooking and cleaning, eating, sleeping, bathing, brushing your teeth, driving around on errands, tending to family members, and all of the other tasks in a day, how many are left that you can possibly work? Maybe 8 hours on a good day? Now let's break those down. You have to market your business, read your emails, make phone calls, schedule appointments, bill for your time, etc. etc. etc. So, how many of your hours each day are billable? The number drops significantly. Let's compare that to what could be. While you're doing all of those things, you have your very own ebook (or training audio or even video course) available for sale on your blog. You also have an affiliate program, so others are promoting it on theirs, too. That info product starts to sell a few copies per week. It then builds up momentum to where you're making several sales per day. Now, you wake up in the morning and, while you drink your coffee, you see a few sales have come in overnight. While you're running your errands, a few more sales come in. And, when you have a family emergency and can't take clients, you can focus on what is important – taking care of your family, because you're still making money from that info product. Many consultants want to reach this stage. Perhaps you've got an ebook or two started in your hard-drive, even. The problem is that there are many (MANY) small steps in the process. None is insurmountable, by any stretch, but each can become a stumbling block if you don't have someone to turn to when you get stuck or confused. Sample Subject Lines: Why Don't you have an Info Product? Can you name a guru who… Hi {!firstname_fix}, Quick question for you. How does a guru become a guru? (Sorry if you dislike that word, but hang with me a moment so I can make my point.) EVERY single Internet Marketing "guru" or expert becomes one after creating their own info product, whether it's a small report, a full ebook, an audio course, or multi-media with video. Can you name ONE guru (or internet marketing expert) who does NOT have an info product? I'll bet you can't. I couldn't. Now, I'm not going to lie to you and say that every person who creates an info product becomes a guru, but it is pretty much a requirement to making serious income online. Yes, a list is important.
