Is your business a bushy Bonsai?

I have a story for you called:
“Lessons of the Bonsai Tree”

After reading it, ask yourself… “Is my business a bushy Bonsai?”

Lessons of the Bonsai Tree

Peter circled the table and frowned at the overgrown shrub sitting in a pot on the table. “What is it?”

“A bonsai tree,” Yukio said.

“Uhm, I’ve seen the Karate Kid. That’s no bonsai tree.”

“It is so.” Yukio scowled. “It just hasn’t been trimmed.”

“Oh.”

“My grandfather left it to me when he died, but I want to learn how to shape it before I do any cutting.”

Yukio pulled a stack of books off the shelf. Bonsai for Beginners. How to Shape a Bonsai Tree in 10 Easy Steps. Inner Peace Through Bonsai.

“Okay,” Peter said. “I get that I guess. How long have you had it?”

“Three years.”

“THREE YEARS? And you haven’t snipped a branch yet?”

“I don’t want to screw it up,” Yukio said. “This is a rare species and very valuable.”

“So, you’re just going to let it sit there and get bushier and bushier?” Peter asked…

De-Mystifying Product Creation: The “Customer Support” Excuse

Product creation is EASY.

Convert anything you say, write, or do into a digestible format and you have a product. Done.

Well, there’s more to it than that… but I’ll leave that for another blog post. :)

Right now, I want to help you get over one of the biggest, yet most ridiculous excuses when it comes to product creation.

Customer Support.

“I don’t want to deal with customer support! Booo. Hiss. Humph.”

Yes… the thought of dealing with customers is paralyzing enough to cause smart business owners to freeze their product aspirations. Sound familiar?

That is what I like to call a little bout of “excusitis.” The scientific definition of excusitis is: the use of silly, nonsensical, or inane excuses to prevent real action from occurring. And I see it far too frequently from far too many of my clients.

I have the remedy, and it’s simple, watch my fun video below:

Here’s the easy reference video summary:

  1. Stop hiding in your little box. Be accessible and available and you’ll be more likely to steal business from your inaccessible and unavailable competitors.
  2. It’s your DUTY to give your prospects and customers a great experience. If you can’t do it, someone else will.
  3. If you get emails from customers, be thankful that you have prospects and customers interested in your stuff. You’re not entitled to anything.
  4. Provide a good quality product or service and you probably won’t get many support questions (unless you’re in a highly technical or software niche).
  5. Cut & paste or compile all responses to customers into FAQ pages, email auto-responders, or a Q&A video. Easy peasy.
  6. Once you get sufficient volume, you can always outsource customer support and it’s a whole lot easier when you have your templates, FAQs, and tutorial videos.
  7. No more lazy excuses!

Of course, you can use my PLR content to create products quickly since the heavy lifting is done for you. Plus I have my free 101 Ways to Use PLR guide to get the ideas flowing!

Now that you know what you know, you can’t hide behind this excuse anymore. It’s empowering now, ain’t it? :)

Geeks vs. Marketers

You know the difference between geeks and marketers?

  • Geeks get stuff done and get paid once.
  • Marketers strategically create VALUE and get paid over and over.
  • Geeks tinker with php, css, jpgs, and tech stuff.
  • Marketers tinker with traffic, conversion rates, offers, and MONEY-MAKING stuff.
  • Geeks know how to make things shiny and spiffy.
  • Marketers know how to make HOT customers out of cold leads.

So here’s my question for you…

What role have you been playing in your business…
…and who do you REALLY want to be?

For the “geeky” marketers out there, know this:
You must ALWAYS be a marketer first.

As a marketer, you know what makes you money, and if you’re not sure, you’re smart enough to test and tweak until you find out.

Geek skills might come in handy from time to time, but great MARKETING skills will ALWAYS be useful.

Remember:

  1. Marketer first.
  2. Geek second.

To your success,

P.S. I know so many of you spend way too much time, money, and effort on the stuff that doesn’t bring home the bacon.

That’s why I’m going to be launching a special offer to get the”geek stuff” off your plate so you can focus on the MARKETING.

Stay tuned for that…

The REAL story of aspiring internet marketers…

I’ve made a discovery.

After coaching hundreds of entrepreneurs at all levels, creating dozens of sites from scratch, and helping my clients develop rock-solid USPs and sales funnels…

I’ve discovered that there are THREE types of marketers:

  1. The Average 90%
  2. The Above-Average 9%
  3. The ULTIMATE 1%.

Here’s the REAL story of aspiring internet marketers:

I believe that 90% of people starting out online never really get past the technical hurdles… the site, web design, email auto-responders, and so on.

That’s right. I’m saying that 90% FAIL before they ever really get started… BEFORE a dime is deposited into their Paypal accounts.

That’s the “Average.”

The Above-Average 9% get a site up and running, but it attracts little attention, gets little to no links, and little to no traffic…

…but it all goes unnoticed because Google Analytics isn’t installed, the site structure is a mess, and they don’t even know they have a problem - let alone how to fix it.

Plus it’s a pain to update the site (so the site goes stale) and any leads that visit the site bounce instantly because the site offers no value, there’s no sales funnel, and there’s nothing unique.

These two groups of people make up 99% of online entrepreneurs from my experience…

…and these are the SAME group of people who say things like:

“Internet marketing doesn’t work!”

“The ONLY people making money are the gurus.”

“The ONLY people making money are selling info products about how to make money.”

Sorry to say, but that’s utter B.S.

I’m no guru and I’m in several non-IM niches that are very successful.

And I’ve got colleagues and clients who are VERY successful in the reiki market, as well as stress, yoga, weight loss, and even the Christian youth ministry market - a real tough market to monetize.

The truth is, it’s the VICTIM MINDSET that causes 99% of internet marketers to FAIL.

The mindset of going to battle alone…

…the mindset of scarcity.

…the mindset of zero work and all play.

But what about the ULTIMATE 1%?

Well… they’re the true go-getters… the ones who spend hours learning and implementing, tweaking and testing from someone who’s been there…

… the ones who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty, but know when they need to get help to get things done.

The reality is that this “1%” is probably closer to 0.1% than 1%, because few actually take action and implement EVERYTHING they should to really get their business off the ground.

Here’s my challenge for you:

If you’re not in the top 1%, why not?
What’s holding you back?

The Perversion of Failure

Did you know…

…there are blogs DEVOTED to failure where people take pleasure in seeing others fall flat on their face.

Sad.

No wonder the fear of failure can strangle us senseless.

Trust me… I’ve been there.

  • I’ve spent $10k to create dud websites…
  • I’ve been suckered into spending $2k on FAILED marketing campaigns…
  • I’ve blown through TENS OF THOUSANDS to create failed products…
  • I’ve wasted MONTHS going in circles and spinning my wheels…

It happens to ALL of us. It sucked. But I made it through.

There are two MAJOR lessons that you MUST take from this.

1. Fail fast.

The faster you fail…
…the faster you’ll find out that something isn’t going to work…
…the faster you find something that DOES work.

Sounds easy on paper, but hard to put into practice, especially if it means your “baby” for the last 3 years turns out to be fool’s gold.

Sobering? Yes.

But better now, than never. Drop it, learn from it, then move forward.

2. Fail hard.

Take away EVERYTHING from a man… his possessions, his clothing, his home, his safety, and even his dignity… and you have a man who’s got nothing to lose.

And with nothing to lose, he’s got EVERYTHING to gain.

Here’s harsh reality #1:
The harder you fall, the higher you bounce.

And here’s harsh reality #2:
Failure is dished out to everyone. Including the gurus and celebrities and EVERY member of the human family.

If there’s an opportunity for success, then there’s an opportunity for failure. So if you’re serious about your business, your goals, your dreams, then you must GO BIG… or go back to your day job.

There are no halfsies and no do-overs. Suck it up and accept it.

Failure is real. But fear not failure.

Starting NOW: Wipe away the tears, clench your fists, and trudge on.

To your success,

Ronnie Nijmeh
