Mind the Book - Done-for-You "Crowd Sourced" Market Research

I discovered this cool tool called: MindtheBook.com and I wanted to show you how you can leverage the questions and answers on this site to create great blog content, book reviews, products, workshops, webinars, teleseminars, or your own books!

Crowd Sourced Market Research

What is crowd sourced market research? Essentially, it means that people contribute questions like "How to be happy" and then others submit answers about books that help to answer that question.

How is this useful?

Well, this is great because YOU get INSIDE the MIND of what people are searching for... AND what types of solutions, when it comes to books and content that they're likely to find.

In my quick video tutorial below, I'm going to show you two cool ways of using this site:

  1. How to create excellent blog content by doing things like writing short book reviews and optimizing your blog post for the keywords of these "questions."
  2. How to discover WINNING product ideas by leveraging the questions your prospects are already asking... then using Amazon's "Search Inside..." tool to create a profitable outline for products, books, workshops, teleseminars, software, and other tools.

Of course, all of this can then feed your email autoresponders, workshops, table of contents for your book, and so on. The best part? The research is done for you.

If you need the content to "fill in" the chapters, we've got a ton of great stuff you'll find in the PLR store.

Is Your Online Business a bushy Bonsai Tree?

I have a story for you called:
"Lessons of the Bonsai Tree"

After reading it, ask yourself... "Is my business a bushy Bonsai?"

Lessons of the Bonsai Tree

Peter circled the table and frowned at the overgrown shrub sitting in a pot on the table. "What is it?"

"A bonsai tree," Yukio said.

"Uhm, I've seen the Karate Kid. That's no bonsai tree."

"It is so." Yukio scowled. "It just hasn't been trimmed."

"Oh."

"My grandfather left it to me when he died, but I want to learn how to shape it before I do any cutting."

Yukio pulled a stack of books off the shelf. Bonsai for Beginners. How to Shape a Bonsai Tree in 10 Easy Steps. Inner Peace Through Bonsai.

"Okay," Peter said. "I get that I guess. How long have you had it?"

"Three years."

"THREE YEARS? And you haven't snipped a branch yet?"

"I don't want to screw it up," Yukio said. "This is a rare species and very valuable."

"So, you're just going to let it sit there and get bushier and bushier?" Peter asked...

De-Mystifying Product Creation: The Customer Support Excuse

Product creation is EASY.

Convert anything you say, write, or do into a digestible format and you have a product. Done.

Well, there's more to it than that... but I'll leave that for another blog post. :)

Right now, I want to help you get over one of the biggest, yet most ridiculous excuses when it comes to product creation.

Customer Support.

"I don't want to deal with customer support! Booo. Hiss. Humph."

Yes... the thought of dealing with customers is paralyzing enough to cause smart online business owners to freeze their product aspirations. Sound familiar?

That is what I like to call a little bout of "excusitis." The scientific definition of excusitis is: the use of silly, nonsensical, or inane excuses to prevent real action from occurring. And I see it far too frequently from far too many of my clients.

I have the remedy, and it's simple, watch my fun video below:

Here's the easy reference video summary:

  1. Stop hiding in your little box. Be accessible and available and you'll be more likely to steal online business from your inaccessible and unavailable competitors.
  2. It's your DUTY to give your prospects and customers a great experience. If you can't do it, someone else will.
  3. If you get emails from customers, be thankful that you have prospects and customers interested in your stuff. You're not entitled to anything.
  4. Provide a good quality product or service and you probably won't get many support questions (unless you're in a highly technical or software niche).
  5. Cut & paste or compile all responses to customers into FAQ pages, email auto-responders, or a Q&A video. Easy peasy.
  6. Once you get sufficient volume, you can always outsource customer support and it's a whole lot easier when you have your templates, FAQs, and tutorial videos.
  7. No more lazy excuses!

Of course, you can use my PLR content to create products quickly since the heavy lifting is done for you. Plus I have my free 101 Ways to Use PLR guide to get the ideas flowing!

Now that you know what you know, you can't hide behind this excuse anymore. It's empowering now, ain't it? :)

Differences Between Geeks and Marketers

You know the difference between geeks and marketers?

  • Geeks get stuff done and get paid once.
  • Marketers strategically create VALUE and get paid over and over.
  • Geeks tinker with php, css, jpgs, and tech stuff.
  • Marketers tinker with traffic, conversion rates, offers, and MONEY-MAKING stuff.
  • Geeks know how to make things shiny and spiffy.
  • Marketers know how to make HOT customers out of cold leads.

So here's my question for you...

What role have you been playing in your business...
...and who do you REALLY want to be?

For the "geeky" marketers out there, know this:
You must ALWAYS be a marketer first.

As a marketer, you know what makes you money, and if you're not sure, you're smart enough to test and tweak until you find out.

Geek skills might come in handy from time to time, but great MARKETING skills will ALWAYS be useful.

Remember:

  1. Marketer first.
  2. Geek second.

To your success,

P.S. I know so many of you spend way too much time, money, and effort on the stuff that doesn't bring home the bacon.

That's why I'm going to be launching a special offer to get the"geek stuff" off your plate so you can focus on MARKETING skills.

Stay tuned for that...
