Are you a slave or a visionary?

After HOURS of coaching calls with my students over the last couple weeks I've discovered a CRITICAL secret...

This will blow you away.

This secret is what separates those who are SUCCESSFUL vs. those who STRUGGLE.

So what's the difference between the struggling business owner SLAVING away to earn $10/hr vs. the BIG SUCCESS making $1,000/hr?

Mindset.

Yup... that's all it is.

You see, the $10/hr guy is a slave to his biz.

He thinks that things like SEO and article writing should be his primary focus.

So he does blog commenting, link building, article submissions, and all that bo-ring work until he gets burnt to a crisp making dimes a day.

Blech.

Yes, those things are important, but those are tasks you can outsource for $5 and $10/hr -- or if you don't have the funds to outsource, you can use use ready-made content to save you from slogging away.

Problem solved --!

Now compare this "slave" mentality to the VISIONARY entrepreneur...

The VISIONARY focuses on the $1,000/hr tasks... the stuff that only HE can uniquely do...

...the stuff that will DIRECTLY bring in the cash.

What does this look like?

Well, here are three things you NEED to focus on if you REALLY want to reach your biz goals:

  1. Doing weekly or bi-weekly webinars  that pitch your own offers - group coaching, home study courses, video courses, and more (based on your PLR.me content of course). (Visionary Tip: You can even do webinars that pitch affiliate products!)
  2. Striking deals and strong relationships with JV partners -- and doing webinars for THEIR list.
  3. Recording face-to-face videos, posted on YouTubeso you can identify with your prospects and build trust and loyalty (only YOU can tell your story using your voice and face. (Visionary Tip:You can even do face-to-face video reviews about affiliate products!)

Oh and here's a bonus tip...

Email your list and Facebook friends (even if it's just five people) as frequently as possible...

Connect with them, share your stories, send them to your blog posts, webinars, or videos, and sell your products on the "back-end".

It's NOT about hard selling, it's all about PERSONALITY MARKETING.

It's about telling stories and identifying with your core audience using the power of YOU.

When you do this, report back on your sales...

Oh how successful ye will be!

To your success,

What we all can learn from Steve Jobs

Last night, I got an alert on my iPad and iPhone about the passing of Steve Jobs.

Steve was the co-founder of Apple, and key inventor of many of the great products and services we all use on a daily basis... iPhones, iPads, iTunes, Macs, and more.

What an amazing tribute that so many people learned of his passing on a device he invented.

We've lost an incredible visionary who has truly changed how we use and interact with technology.

So what can we learn from Steve Jobs?

Firstly, if you ever want to learn how to give an incredible presentation just YouTube a Steve Jobs keynote. It's an art form.

Secondly, Steve's outlook will completely change how you look at life.

Here's what Steve said:

"No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life.

It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma -- which is living with the results of other people's thinking.

Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

... "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?"

- Steve Jobs, 1955-2011

What's in your clenched fist?

A few months ago, I started on a personal journey to eat and be healthier...

(Keep reading... there is a VITAL business lesson in here...)

It wasn't a diet, fad, or withdrawal type of program... it was actually a faith-based program to guide me to a healthier lifestyle.

It REALLY opened my eyes...

THE KEY REALIZATION:

Your un-stretched stomach is the size of your CLENCHED fist.

Uh oh.

All that food I'd been SHOVELLING into my pie hole surely didn't fit into two (or three) open palms, let alone a single clenched fist!

So for DECADES, I was shovelling food faster than my stomach could handle it... I was engulfing SEVERAL clenched fists in one sitting.

Gross.

Well a few months later, I'm 30 pounds lighter, and I feel great!

It's actually funny... my wife, Melissa, got all the credit since she's health conscious and she's a nurse...

And while she was my biggest fan, cheering me on, the truth is... *I* had to be ready to make the change, and focus my energy entirely on ONE goal.

My ONE thing was: Only eating when I'm hungry and ONLY eating a clenched fist of food in one sitting.

That's it.

I didn't exercise. And I didn't even try to eat "healthy". I ate whatever I wanted, even junky fast food from time to time.

And I STILL shed 30lbs in about 5-6 months.

Not bad.

HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS?

After reflecting on my ups and downs with my health, I realized that my personal story relates to all of us as online entrepreneurs...

  1. How often do you bite off more than you can chew -  literally and figuratively?
  2. How often are you doing MORE than you can handle? Too many websites at a time. Too many unread products. Too much on the to-do list.

It's overwhelming!

You see...  you HAVE to be picky.

You have to be careful about what you put into YOUR CLENCHED FIST.

Yes, there are plenty of great opportunities out there, and many will make you a living, but you can't do it all!

So STOP collecting WSOs and info products that whip you around in a bajillion different directions that you never knew existed.

START focusing on the stuff that will bring you to where you DESERVE to be.

My million-dollar question for you is...
What's in your clenched fist?

To your success,

The BIG mistake that keeps even smart people BROKE

I got an email from a client today that really irked me...

Here's what she said:

"I'm a writer and I also have 4 affiliate websites, all 4 months old or younger, and still not making any money. I'm growing a list but I don't know what to do with that list! What to offer etc.

I love writing articles, but it's not getting me to where I want to be financially...I'm not good at the marketing side of things and there is a lot of competition these days."
-- Karen Coomier

Yech. There are a few reasons why that bothers me.

But first, it's not Karen's fault and it's not yours either. I blame the lies, deceit, and utter garbage that the so-called "goo-roos" proclaim.

PROBLEMO NUMERO #1:
Multiple Sites With ZERO Focus

Okay, so here's the thinking of some big name dudes...

"Make $1/day from one site, then churn out 100 sites,
now you have $100/day."

Urhm. Really?

Because I've seen some of my clients who have hundreds (upon hundreds) of sites, and they're making a collective sum of pennies per day. (Yippie! Smash the piggy bank and
buy me some bubble gum!)

Here's the TRUTH:

It's not about the number of sites you have, and it's not even about the number of visitors you get (hey, I've had profitable businesses with just a hundred visitors a day)...

What MATTERS is how you IDENTIFY with your visitors and how you show 'em why you're the coolest of the cool.

PROBLEMO NUMERO #2:
I Don't Know What To Send To My List

Again, I blame the "goo-roos"... because their example of "relationship building" goes something like this:

Email #1: Pitch
Email #2: Pitch again (harder)
Email #3: Pitch again (even harder)

...then a month later, they recycle the same emails and pitch the same garbagio again.

That's NOT how you build a relationship and definitely NOT how you make a raving fan of your work.

Want to know MY email marketing secrets?

  • Share stories, tell your secrets, explain your mistakes, and get personal.
  • Invite and encourage replies to your emails
  • Forget about the "hard" pitch, instead build honest, realistic expectations
  • BE YOU. Just write as though you're taking to your best buddy or your trusting girlfriend.

Pretty simple right?

Okay, that brings me to the BIG MAMMA mistake that keeps even SMART PEOPLE BROKE...

PROBLEMO NUMERO #3:
'Outsourcing' the Marketing

Ack... nails on a chalkboard to me!

Now I know EXACTLY where this thinking comes from. It all stems from self-esteem issues. Inferiority, self-doubt, and limitations.

Except, that's all a distracting illusion.

How do I know?
Because I was once where you are today.

I did EVERYTHING I could to avoid "selling"... graphics design, HTML/CSS, float around
aimlessly on forums.

I was AFRAID to sell. I wasn't confident enough, smart enough, "cool" enough.

And instead of LEARNING how to market, I convinced myself about UTTER LIES...

"I can't do this stuff," I thought.
"It's just not me," I felt.
"I should just outsource the marketing," I believed.

And the funniest thing was that I had no problem selling other people's stuff.

Ask me about my closet full of Apple products or my organic foam mattress and I can get you all giddy with excitement, wallet in hand... (my mattress rocks, btw!)

...but when I talked about my own site and products?
Naw, I got all sheepy and shy.

Been there, done that, and overcame the DISMAL results.

You see...

We've been conditioned at a young age that...

  • Marketers = sleazy scumbag shysters
  • Marketers = dumb product peddlers
  • Marketers = salesy shysters

Except that's NOT true.

That may the experience with some marketers (goo-roos, I'm lookin' at you!), but that is
NOT what works, and it's definitely not something you can proudly tell your kids about.

HERE'S THE SOLUTION:

Marketing doesn't have to be a HARD sell, but it DOES have to get personal.

That means selling YOURSELF and your personality.

It's called: PERSONALITY MARKETING.

  • That means writing honest reviews, even telling people NOT to buy a product if it's not right for them.
  • That means recording face-to-face videos to identify with your core audience.
  • That means sharing personal stories and experiences via your blog posts and emails.

And when you do that, you can put a link to your products (or your recommended affiliate products) below the good stuff and "sell without selling."

It works.

When you identify with someone's core, they'll begin to know, like, and trust you...

...and that leads to lasting relationships, raving fans, and sales.

So now it's time for you to go do some MARKETING! :)

Best business advice I've ever received...

Here's some of the best business advice I ever got:

"If you're not connecting with your followers and customers, then you're not doing your job. A very good entrepreneur puts relationships ahead of profits because he knows that stronger relationship naturally leads to healthier profits."

Ain't that 'ze truth.

While everyone else is getting impersonal and distancing themselves from their people, you can actually get CLOSER to your crowd and give 'em more of what they want.

It's never failed me. Nope. Never.

But look at the self-professed "goo-roos"... do they even ask to know your first name anymore, let alone personally answer your emails and get to know you?

Of course not. Not cool.

No wonder their refund rates are as high as 65%(!!)

There is a MUCHOS better way... one that builds loyalty, respect, and a rabid fan base.

Here are two simple examples:

  • The most successful YouTube stars interact with their audience, take requests, answer comments, and even mention specific fans in their videos. The big networks can't even muster the kind of captivated audience some YouTubers have!

  • Gary Vaynerchuk recorded 1,000+ videos about food and wine pairings on his Wine Library and Daily Grape sites. He took audience questions and interacted intimately with his base. He looks DIRECTLY into your eyes when you watch his videos... and he doesn't aggressively "sell" you anything.

How can YOU connect with your audience and build a solid relationship?

Let me count the ways...

  1. Record face-to-face videos (or at least PowerPoint videos)
  2. Host as many free workshops and teleseminars as you can handle
  3. Send a physical "thank you" card in the mail to new clients
  4. Ask for feedback and implement your customer's suggestions
  5. Email your list frequently and encourage people to reply
  6. Answer your customer's emails
  7. Encourage blog comments by simply ASKING for them
  8. Send random freebies and gifts
  9. Run contests and giveaway prizes
  10. Tell stories and GET PERSONAL

HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE...

People buy from people they know, like, and trust. If you aren't gettin' personal with your peeps, then someone else will and your customers will flock to your competition.

To your success,

Ronnie Nijmeh
